How to Clean Mold and Mildew in Outdoor Spaces:

Clorox® Bleach facilitates the cleaning of mold and mildew in outdoor spaces. All you need is the following:

  • Clorox® Bleach
  • Safety glasses
  • A 5-gallon bucket
  • Garden hose with spray nozzle
  • Measuring cup
  • Rubber gloves
  • Scrubbing brushes (long-handled or hand-held)

Follow these steps to clean mold and mildew in outdoor spaces:

  1. Water
    Thoroughly water any plants near the work area very well. Protect larger plants with plastic tarps.
  2. Add
    Add 8 oz of Clorox® Bleach in a bucket with 1 gallon of water.
  3. Prep
    Pre-wet the surface to be cleaned with water.
  4. Apply
    Apply the bleach and water solution to the surface with a scrub brush.
  5. Repeat
    Reapply as needed to keep surface wet for 5 minutes.
  6. Rinse
    Rinse the treated area thoroughly.
  7. Air dry
    Let the surface air dry.
  8. Water again.
    Re-water nearby plants so that no bleach solution remains.

Flush any leftover bleach and water solution down the toilet.
Make sure you rinse the brushes and gloves well with the hose, and let them dry in the sun.
Test the bleach solution on the area to be treated.
Before starting the cleaning, apply the solution to an inconspicuous area of ​​the area to be treated to ensure that it will not cause damage. We recommend that you carefully read the instructions on the label before application.
Avoid applying the bleach solution in direct sunlight or on unfinished wood.
You also shouldn't use the solution to clean gutters or aluminum windows.
